"Good and bad often come wrapped up in the same package, don’t they? We just lean one direction or the other, depending on circumstances and personality."

So, who is making the Freudian analysis of this particular storytelling obsession?
Seriously Remender. What the fuck?
holy fuck, this was all Remender? Guy’s got some serious issues.
Freud would say something along thee lines “obvious repressed hatred toward women caused by also repressed subconcious desire to have sex with one’s own mother, that visualizes in fatasies about having women stabbed by sharp, phallic objects” or shit like that.
I ee he really doesn’t seems to like Rogue and is very unimaginative at ways for people to get hurt.

I’m trying to figure out why Pietro’s manpain makes me want to squish him up and comfort him, instead of making me roll my eyes at him, because somehow it does. Maybe it’s the daddy issues that he gets written with so often that have softened me up. Maybe it’s because he’ll never be as famous as his sister is (both good and bad) so it’s hard to feel like his pain is creeping into manpain territory, his story never really overshadows hers.
But I think it’s also that everything I’ve read with Pietro in it also understands that much of this situation is his own damn fault. It’s genuinely crappy and a lot of shit has happened to Pietro that’s not his fault, but his reactions, even if they’re understandable, have led to a lot of this. His choices have been what make people hate him so much, even if there’s some defenses to be put up. (Generally, though, Pietro is rarely the one screaming THE GOOD GUYS WERE GOING TO KILL HIS SISTER, FFS, usually, that’s me saying that.)
I think Pietro’s pain works for me because it’s not just him being paranoid, but when he says, “Everyone does.” it’s partly humorous and partly just… true. And it’s not wholly serious that he’s a lone man against the world, it’s also partly that his super-speed lets him do some really awesome things in PAD’s hands, so of course everyone hates him.
This is like Guido and Pietro’s piano playing all over again, which is why I think this is meant to be humorous, even if the twist on it is a little more serious now.
(And, whatever, I’ll over-analyze this issue if I want to!)
